Linen closets are a functional way of saving extra space and obtaining storage in an inexpensive way. However, keeping them organized can be a little of a task if not taken with the weight that it deserves. This is because the closets usually attract more than just the linens turning them into catchall for lots of things used in bath and bed. Things usually mound up because probably we do not have time to perform a little organization. But spending a little more time organizing your linen closet now will save you a great deal of time and hassle in the long run. Here are a few guidelines into how you can effective organize your closet.
Consider where items in linen are used
Linen closets are solely for the purpose of functionality, therefore a good starting point is asking yourself where the stuff that’s crammed in the closet are used. Where do you use the towels, pillows, sheets and the rest of the stuffs and what does each of the item is needed for.
Identify what is to be stored in closet
Actually 20% of what people own is what is subjected into use most of the time. To identify what is to be stored, categorize the items based on how they are used and what they are used for. The things that are not needed or not used should be relocated or donated if need be. For larger items, you may need to think outside the box. For instance, a pillow might be too large for a linen closet hence the fact that it is a pillow does not make it right to put it in the closet.
