Wingback chair means a chair which has wings to the back of a chair for comfort. It is basically designed to give comfort to head and torso area of a body. We can stretch down on it some time. It is typically installed near a fireplace in the historic times. It protects the face and head from cold drafts. It shut in the heat from a fireplace in the area. Most of the wingback chairs have wood legs currently. The old designs have a frame with padded cushions.
Though there are many types of wingback chair in the market. It can be the flat wingback chair, the scroll wingback chair, bat wingback chair or butterfly wingback chair etc. it can be differentiated on the length basis, depth, vertical position, and the shape of wings etc.
